Dr Al-Salihi is a certified Urogynaecologist, Obstetrician and a Gynaecologist. He gained his primary degree in Medicine and Surgery overseas and acquired extensive experience in Medicine and Surgery working in different parts of the world. After completing his General Obstetrics and Gynaecology training in New Zealand and Australia, Dr Al-Salihi received formal training in Urogynaecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery at the Royal Women’s Hospital Melbourne. Currently, Dr Al-Salihi works as an specialist at the Urogynaecology Department at the Royal Women’s Hospital Melbourne in Parkville.
Dr Al-Salihi offers services in Urogynaecology and Urodynamic testing for patients with pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. He has a special interest in laparoscopic and minimal access surgery in pelvic reconstruction and urogynaecology. As well as that Dr. Al-Salihi is a certified Robotic surgeon and has interest in developing Robotic surgery in Urogaenecology. Dr. Al-Salihi, is a member of the international urogyaenecology association, The Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society and The subspecialty subcommittee at the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologists.
Dr Al-Salihi is extensively involved in clinical research and innovative developments in the field. He won national and international awards while presenting in a variety of conventions and conferences. He is often asked to be a guest speaker in international conferences for example in Japan and Dubai. He presents his papers regularly at national and international conventions around the world. He is also committed to the junior trainees’ clinical and surgical training.
We are catered to look after women with wide range of gynaecological problems. We provide care for women with urinary incontinence and pelvic floor problems like pelvic organ prolapse. We advocate for a holistic approach to pelvic floor care and management as we are linked to a multidisciplinary team of specialists like colorectal surgeons, Urologists and pelvic floor physiotherapists, that can make up for such approach.
We also care for women during their pregnancies and post partum period. Dr. Al-Salihi does pregnancy ultrasound for his obstetrics patients during each antenatal visit. Such management provides closer monitoring for the pregnancy progress and helps early pick up of any early concerning signs during the patients journey towards healthy pregnancy and delivery.
In addition to the above we do care for women with different gynaecology needs like abnormal bleeding, colposcopy and different benign pelvic pathologies.
