Urogynaecology and Pelvic Floor

It is defined as the laxity of the supportive pelvic floor tissues resulting in a “drop” in the pelvic floor tissues and organs like the uterus. That drop can give symptoms of heaviness, dragging sensation and to a lesser extent lower back aching. The pelvic floor drop can also be physically visible. In that women would see and feel a “ lump” or a “golf ball” protruding through the vaginal opening.
